Effective training ensures employees understand what they need to do and why it matters – an essential part of building trust and long-term success. That’s why the Consumer Credit Trade Association (CCTA) created CCTA Academy – our purpose-built online training and development platform, designed specifically for the consumer credit industry.
Launched in 2023, CCTA Academy has rapidly grown in popularity and now supports over 1,000 users. Initially available only to our members, we’re excited to announce that, following approval from the CCTA Board of Directors, we are opening access to all firms operating in consumer credit.
This move is particularly beneficial for smaller or specialist lenders, many of whom struggle to find affordable, relevant training tailored to their needs.
The Academy is built on real-world regulatory experience. Our course content draws directly from our work with the FCA, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), and other key regulatory bodies. This ensures that our training reflects not just current rules but also evolving expectations – and how they apply in day-to-day practice.
We understand that one-size-fits-all training often misses the mark. That’s why every CCTA Academy course is tailored to the sectors we represent, covering topics that matter most, from complaints handling and responsible lending, to meeting the standards of the Consumer Duty.
CCTA Academy is constantly growing. Earlier this year, we launched a timely course on cyber security, helping firms protect sensitive data in an increasingly digital world. In development is a new responsible lending course, with further plans for a module on illegal money lending later in the year. In addition, we regularly host live-learning sessions led by the CCTA team and our Associate members – bringing expert insight directly to users.
Modern firms need modern solutions. CCTA Academy is fully online, making it flexible and accessible – whether your team is remote, hybrid, or office-based. The platform also includes full audit tracking, supporting firms in demonstrating their training commitments during supervision or regulatory reviews.
Whether you’re onboarding new employees, refreshing compliance knowledge, or responding to FCA feedback, CCTA Academy delivers practical, professional development that supports both your team and your bottom line.
This is more than just training. It’s about building capability, confidence, and a culture of compliance – across the consumer credit industry.
For over 130 years, we have championed responsible lending – supporting firms, engaging with policymakers, and shaping fair regulation. We provide insight, guidance, and a platform for businesses navigating a complex financial landscape.
Our work spans regulatory engagement, industry advocacy, and practical support, ensuring that consumer credit remains accessible, responsible, and sustainable. We provide the expertise and leadership that drive better outcomes for all.
