Treasury publishes first consultation on CCA reform
Regulatory Updates | 13/12/22
On Friday last week, HM Treasury opened the first consultation on the reform of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (CCA). The government is initially seeking views on which aspects of the current legislation should be retained in law and which aspects should be transferred to the FCA for regulation. This includes CCA definitions, scope, information requirements and consumer rights and protections. Following this, the government will issue another consultation focused on specific proposals for transforming the regime.
