Charles Randell, Chair of the FCA, gave a speech Outcomes-focussed regulation: a measure of success?

The FCA has said it is moving to become more outcomes focussed. Mr Randell set out that this is the right thing to do but it is not yet fully embedded in everything that the FCA and financial services firms do.

By defining the right outcomes, measuring them and acting on the results quickly with an enhanced data capacity, the FCA will be able to target interventions more effectively. Being transparent about outcomes will also drive the FCA to act and increases accountability.
