Sam Woods, Deputy Governor for Prudential Regulation publishes speech on UK Financial Services Regulation post-Brexit

Six guiding principles are said to form the basis for the UK regulatory regime post-Brexit, they are robust prudential standards, responsible openness based on international collaboration and standards, proportionality and sensitivity to business models and promoting competition, dynamism and responsiveness, consistency and accountability. Mr Woods also suggested that the UK could adopt a hybrid method towards regulation, either a ‘design versus calibration’ split or a wholesale-retail split.
