A revised draft of The Debt Respite Scheme (Breathing Space Moratorium and Mental Health Crisis Moratorium) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 as laid before Parliament has been published on legislation.gov.uk. The revisions include limited changes to certain provisions including clarifications in section 7 on how the scheme will work, including that the protections set out in the Regulations will only be accessible through professional debt advice providers, and that all of a person’s debts can be including in a breathing space. When made the Regulations will come into force on 4 May 2021, apart from the provisions referred to in regulations 1(3) to 1(7).
