Office for National Statistics: worries about the rising costs of living

Statistics from ONS covering April and May show that:

  • 77% of adults are worried about the rising cost of living
  • adults with less than £10,000 annual income had the highest percentage of feeling worried (31%)
  • women (81%) were more likely than men (73%) to report feeling very or somewhat worried about the rising costs of living
  •  adults aged 30 to 49 years (82%) and those aged 50 to 69 years (77%) were more likely to be worried about rising costs than those aged 70 years and above (70%).
