No ease in mortgage market or interest rates

Over the last week, widespread media coverage, coupled with data and statistics released by the Bank of England (BoE) and the FCA, continue to highlight mortgage market challenges and potential for further interest rate hikes. Many lenders have cut the availability of mortgage deals and the average two year fixed deal is now closer to 6%. Similarly, as inflation remains high, experts predict another BoE base rate increase this week, with some experts saying that there is a one in three chance that the BoE rate could hit 6% by the end of the year.
