A press release has been published by the Loan Market Association (LMA) in which it has highlighted some of the potentially negative consequences for the syndicated loan market following the proposal for an EU Directive on credit servicers, credit purchasers and the recovery of collateral. Whilst the LMA has acknowledged the potential positive intention of the proposals such as encouraging non-performing loans in secondary markets, it has concerns regarding the number of measures which could cause uncertainty in primary and secondary syndicated loan markets.
