Latest cost of living statistics from ONS

Last week, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) released updated data and statistics around the cost of living. The data, which includes energy, spending, food and housing costs, highlights that:

• Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) annual inflation rates eased for the third consecutive month
• In the year to January 2023, gas prices had risen 129.4%
• Inflation rate for food and non-alcoholic beverages eases for the first time since May 2021 to 16.8%
