ICO urges use of privacy enhancing technologies

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has recommended that organisations start embracing Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) to enable them to share people’s personal information safely, securely and anonymously. These technologies allow firms to harness the innovative and trustworthy applications when handling data in an anonymised manner and can also help detect and prevent financial crime and related harms such as fraud, money laundering and cybercrime.
