ICO sets out guidance on communicating regulatory messages

Regulatory Updates | 02/08/23

Having worked in conjunction with the FCA, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has set out guidance for communicating regulatory messages to consumers. Not to be confused with direct marketing, the ICO highlights how a regulatory communication would differ from direct marketing and how firms should consider the tone, content and phrasing of such messages. They also provide practical examples to firms to help them make a distinction between direct marketing and regulatory messages.
