ICO joins international data protection authorities in signing Facebook Libra statement

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has joined global data protection authorities in signing a statement calling for more transparency on Facebook’s proposed Libra digital currency and infrastructure. The statement requests that Facebook provide details of how personal data will be processed in line with data protection laws, and seeks assurances that only the minimum required data for a transaction will be collected.
