ICO fines five firms for unlawful marketing calls

Last week, the ICO confirmed that they had fined five firms a total of £435,000 for making almost half a million unlawful marketing calls. They calls were made to people who were registered on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and included elderly and vulnerable customers. ICO even found evidence of pressure tactics by some firms to obtain payment details.
