Government is considering FCA findings on CCA and reform of consumer credit regulatory regime

On 25 March 2019 the government laid a written ministerial statement in response to the FCA’s review of the retained provisions of the Consumer Credit Act (CCA). In line with that statement, the government is now considering the findings of the FCA’s final report and will respond in due course. This was confirmed in a question and answer statement from the House of Commons dated 30 April 2019. The government is considering whether further reform of the consumer credit regulatory regime is needed.
