FSCP Discussion Paper on Digital Advertising in Financial Services

The Financial Services Consumer Panel (FSCP) has published a Discussion Paper on Digital Advertising in Financial Services. The FSCP is concerned about potential consumer harm linked to the digital advertising of financial products, and in particular the use of advertising technology to create detailed profiles of individuals. The discussion paper sets out the FSCP’s concerns about digital marketing in the high-cost credit market and the pensions-to-cash market with reference to evidence from its exploratory research.
