Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issues policy development update for May 2019

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published its policy development update for May 2019, which provides information on its recent and planned upcoming publications. Future developments expected later this month include policy statements on changes to align the FCA Handbook with the EU Prospectus Regulation, on proposals to improve shareholder engagement and on loan-based (peer-to-peer) crowdfunding platforms. The FCA also intends to launch a number of consultations throughout 2019, which include discussion on the investment platforms market study remedies, examination of recovering the costs of regulating credit rating agencies, trade repositories and securitisation repositories after Brexit and a consultation regarding the Office for professional body anti-money-laundering supervision (OPBAS).
