FCA updates on work in response to Citizens Advice super-complaint to CMA
Regulatory Updates | 09/01/20
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published a press release updating on work it has done in response to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)’s response to the Citizens Advice super-complaint on the loyalty penalty. Areas of work include:
• the cash savings market (including the 9 January 2020 consultation paper on the Single Easy Access Rate);
• home and motor insurance, on which the FCA published an interim market study report in October 2019 (and on which the FCA plans to issue its final report in early 2020); and
• mortgages, on which the FCA published the Mortgage Market Study Final Report in March 2019.
The press release also reports on relevant cross-cutting FCA work, such as its approach to fair pricing in financial services and the ongoing consultation on the fair treatment of vulnerable customers.
