FCA issues consumer warning on Promethean Finance Ltd

Industry News | 22/06/23

The FCA has moved to delist several trading names from the financial services register that were listed under Promethean Finance Limited, which is a debt solutions and debt advice provider. The trading names were not owned or controlled by Promethean and the third-party firms who owned them were not authorised to carry out regulated activities. The FCA has warned consumers that if they have used these third-party sites, they would be highly unlikely to have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for any complaints. The matter has been referred to the Upper Tribunal which will consider representations from Promethean and the FCA before making a decision.
