our role
At CCTA we enjoy a reputation for integrity and a strong independent voice. Our members offer credit in a high profile, dynamic market, and rely on us to provide a yard stick for best practice. Established in 1891, we have a long and powerful history. We work closely with industry regulators and share their passion and vision for a balanced, transparent, and thriving industry.
Innovation is the key to the future. To be part of our association, a business must agree to abide by relevant CCTA codes, and reflect our philosophy. We offer a comprehensive complaint framework to deal with potential problems. If you are stuck and looking for answers, just get in touch.
Free help and advice is widely available for people in financial difficulty. Your rights depend on the type of agreement you have as a customer with the bank/building society/creditor, and the law can be very complex. We have gathered together information on organisations who can help you through this process.
Through a natural process of evolution our corporate structure is led by a CCTA executive board, supported by sectoral committees which feed into lobbying, focus and direction. To ensure our voice truly represents the diverse credit arena, we have policy committees covering all the industry bases. Made up entirely of CCTA members, we can be confident that the driving force behind us, gives us a vibrant, unrivalled, voice of reason.
