British shoppers hooked on using ‘buy now pay later’ firms to fuel lockdown spending

British shoppers have flocked to controversial “buy now pay later” services to fund their spending during lockdown.
With most high street shops closed for the past three months, shoppers have turned to online retailers to purchase clothes, trainers and gadgets. Many have used so-called “buy now pay later” firms, which offer shoppers the chance to purchase items even if they do not have enough money in the bank to buy them outright.
