BoE speech on money and digital currency

Last week, Carolyn Wilkins, BoE’s External Member of the Financial Policy Committee gave a speech at the Digital Monetary Institute. She talked about the three main design principles for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), saying it should stay focused on core public policy objectives, identify and mitigate financial stability risk and it should set high standards for technology.
