Andrew Bailey speech on cost of living

The Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey, delivered a speech at the Cost of Living Conference in London last month. In his speech, Andrew Bailey spoke about the cost of living crisis, addressing the cost of energy and food price inflation. In addressing inflation and the Bank’s 2% target, he explained the reasons behind the Monetary Policy Committees’ decision to raise the base rate of interest to 4%. It is projected that the Bank will reach the 2% target by early 2024.
